James H. Shelton, MD, FACC

James Shelton, MDDr. James Shelton is a native Texan who graduated with honors from Saint Marks School of Texas, Harvard College and Harvard Medical School. He trained with Dr. Eugene Braunwald and served as a major in the Army. His private practice has been solely at Baylor in Dallas, and since 1995 has been a member of North Texas Heart Center. With research interests in nuclear cardiology, he helped start the lab at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Early on he became involved in coronary angioplasty. He is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Internal Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Clinical Council of the American Heart Association. Dr. Shelton’s practice focuses on general cardiology with a special interest in nuclear cardiology.
